Cork oak (Quercus suber)
The cork oak is an evergreen plant of the genus oaks. From the age of about 10 years, the top layer of the bark - cork - can be harvested. This can be repeated every nine years. The Quercus suber occurs mainly in the Mediterranean region (Portugal, Spain, Northern Africa).
Cork oak is considered to be highly valuable from the point of view of biodiversity and cultural heritage.
Cork oak may not be felled as a living tree. Only dead trees can be cleared and processed further. The cork oaks offered by us are in their size and dimension consistently high quality. The color play is unique.
