European black pine (Pinus nigra)

The black pine grows as an upright, mostly straight-stemmed tree which can reach stature heights between 20 and 50 meters and diameter at breast height of up to 1.85 meters.

The black pine has a very extensive, but sturdy root system with a vigorous and strictly growing taproot, which anchors the tree firmly.
The rather broad, yellowish white sapwood stand out well on the darker and very resinous heartwood. The coloring of the heartwood varies between yellow and red.
The very durable wood is very well suited as a wooden floor, because it does not tend to "creak" because the resin richness. The wood gives off a pleasant scent.
